DESCRIPTION

This 1-day tour starts from Cusco's main square at 8:45 AM to travel to the archaelogical center of Tipon. Traveling via Urcos, we will visit: Tipon, the Villa de Oropesa (also known as the Capital of Bread), Pikillaqta, Piñipampa and the Church of Andahuaylillas. We will return to Cusco at approximately 3:00 PM.

TIPON

This is an archaelogical site located ~18 kilometers from Cusco. Visible here is a spectacular hydraulic system, built and used during the height of the Incan empire. After visiting the center, we will continue on to Pikillacta (Pikillaqta).

PIKILLACTA

Located ~30 kilometers from Cusco, this is a pre-Incan archaelogical site, where narrow streets and houses erected by the Wari culture have been preserved. We will also see the Huacarpay Lagoon, known for incredible bird diversity. From there, we will continue on the see the Church of Andahuaylillas.
